One quick note, to save people from some headaches. These changes are better made on your router instead of your phone or computer. That way when you go to work or the coffee shop with your phone or computer you won't break things like login portals or intranet services.

I recommend using the benchmark Linus said he used in the video. I used it, it searched my area for the best DNS servers. I use OpenDNS because it was teh fastest. Cloudfare was close though.

Hi Linus Linus team & Readers: My idea is similar to the new combined wifi routers.. which allow combined data access from not only wired but wired+ multiple wireless antenna's ..so can we actually combine data download from close by routers too? giving neighbours part dns lists? I used to be a network Guru in the 90's in Holland for Geo-Logistics ..still got some thankful 'Western Digital' T'shirts as thanks.

DNS is only used for the first request made to a domain, after that it’s cached. This could make the first load slightly faster (measured in ms) but it can’t make anything else faster

Linus would love if you looked at my routers specs and my verizon fios setup because i still cant figure out why im getting such huge latency with the setup im running. Ppl that have a fios network would surely appreciate a tutorial on how you would optimise the fios network. I try to run everything from ont to my oersonal router first but still issues. Maybe we can work a solution out for the gaming community or you could make fun of this problem
